Putin: Villain, Or Hero?

The West is falling all over itself trying to demonise Russia, calling them everything they can to try and paint Vladimir Putin as the bogeyman writ large. Is President Putin the crazy war monger our Western governments want us to believe, or his he something else?

Let me ask this question instead:

If, in this scenario, Russia was at home watching football and the US and her allies were bombing the living crap out of targets inside Syria, would the moral outrage be the same?

I think the answer would be a very clear 'No'. Nobody likes Bashar Al-Assad very much, the United States pretty much hates his guts, and a civil war has been raging for some time now with the aim of toppling his regime. The US itself has gone to considerable lengths to make sure the president is removed, including arming Sunni militants and basically getting them organised. These militants went on to become ISIS.

Ah yes, the great big disgusting secret that nobody is talking about - even though everybody knows who is responsible. Hundreds and thousands of innocent people are dead, and the numbers are rising every single day, because of a militant group that the United States created.

The United States government is guilty of genocide by proxy, and they have the balls to call Putin (the one person actively seeking to take out these gangs of murderers) the monster? Fucking staggering.

President Putin himself told a press conference, attended by US journalists (amongst others) that he knows the US created ISIS in order to bring about a regime change, and appears that he could prove if he chose to. You can view a video of the conference below.

I could watch that all day. What was the US response? There wasn't one. This a man with, at the time, nothing to hide. There is no script in front of him, there is no autocue and he isn't giving a canned response. This is the kind of straight talking that we in the West are just not used to. Why? Because we are manipulated every second, every hour and every day.

If you watched the buildup to the general election in the UK, and you caught the live debates, you cannot have failed to notice the complete inability of any of the party leaders to actually answer a direct question. Any question.

We have become so used to it that we barely even register the bullshit anymore. The Unpopular Vote was is designed to cut through the bullshit and tell the truth - or, at the very least, the truth as it really appears to be and not the 'truth' churned out by Whitehall, Capitol Hill or the media.

President Putin Has Done Nothing That We Haven't Already

The firing of cruise missiles is a direct 'fuck you' to the West - it wasn't required, the air campaign already being carried out was getting the job done, the cruise missile launches were to put on a display. The Russian public gets wowed, the West gets cowed. Job done.

So, showboating and middle fingers aside, is Putin out of order? Assad, and by definition Syria, is an ally of Russia and as such Russia are duty bound to protect the regime and the country. Putin himself has said that if the people wish Assad to go, then they must be supported in a 'democratic and civilised' way.

The creation of ISIS is neither of those things, and to be honest it's a wonder why Russia hasn't stepped in sooner. No, Putin is not out of order - he did what any other nation would have done... Protect its ally. Are they bombing just ISIS, probably not but who cares? Armed rebellion was never on the agenda, and Russia has shown immense restraint in this regard. Now the gloves are off, they had all better watch out. But, again, nothing any other nation wouldn't do for an ally.

You have to wonder why, if Assad is such a bad guy, why everyone (read, everyone in the West) is so dead against Russia keeping Assad in power?

Put simply, if Russia wins and defeats the opposing forces they can replace Assad at any time, and with one of their own... Which is exactly what the US wanted to do once their Sunni army had decapitated Assad.

That's what the fuss is about... Russia are buying the big shiny toy that the United States had been saving all year for, and they don't like it one little bit. Add that to the fact that Russia is also openly bombing the shit out of a US asset (ISIS), whilst telling the world that the US created the group (and is so responsible for the murders of hundreds of thousands of innocents) and you have the makings of a massive American humiliation.

Putin Is The Sin We Can Live With

Someone said once that there is no such thing as a 'lesser of two evils', when we have to make a hard decision when no available option is ideal.

Instead, we have to pick the sin we can live with. Our governments are corrupt beyond belief, and they can no longer be trusted to carry on operating in our name.

Vladimir is no saint, but he needs to be left alone to do his thing in Syria and Iraq. If he oversteps and gets his fingers burned, then so be it - he's a big boy. If he succeeds, and gains traction in the Baltic States and Middle East, then who knows - we may actually come one step closer to achieving some semblance of peace.

The media would have you believe that Russia is inviting the wrath of Islamic terrorists, but I call bullshit on that too. The Russian people are not as stupid as the governments want us to believe. They will not be fooled into believing these scare tactics, and make no mistake - that's all it is.

Every man, woman and child on earth should be cheering Russia on right now - not trying to demonise them.
